I require a residential Lot Grading Plan for a proposed Garden Suite, can you provide me with a quote?

Absolutely. Please reach out to us as soon as possible in order to avoid any potential delays with your important project.

Do you work with Professional Engineers?

Yes. We work with Professional Civil Engineers licensed to practice in the province of Ontario.

Can you help my leaky basement?

Yes. More often than not a leaky or damp basement is due to improper drainage surrounding a home which is caused by irregular grading. This is most commonly found in older generational homes, however not exclusive to them, as newer built homes will notice settlement problems shortly after occupancy is established. Most contractors will patch up holes and seal cracks on the interior or exterior foundation which only acts as a bandaid to the problem. If you are looking to fix the problem for the long term I would definitely initiate a conversation with me to see how we can fix things for good. With simple recommendations you can complete yourself, you will instantly notice a difference to the drainage around your property.

My neighbour has blocked our shared ditch which runs in between our homes - is there anyway to rectify the drainage now that the damage is done?

Yes. Most municipalities have what’s called a Site Alteration By-law which governs and sets the rules to what home owners can or can’t do on their property. I will guide you through the process and be the first hand contact with the city for your ongoing concern until the matter is dealt with and drainage corrected.

I would like to create a concrete path from my driveway to my backyard but want to ensure I do not have any drainage issues in the future, can you help with this?

Yes. I will work hand in hand with your landscape contractor to ensure appropriate Site Alteration By-laws are followed whilst ensuring storm water is managed appropriately.

I would like a Grading Inspection, how does it work?

I will arrange to meet on site with you to begin assessing the situation. Inspections can last up to 45 minutes for larger lots. I recommend the homeowner is in attendance during the inspection however it is not mandatory and all findings of the inspection will be explained thoroughly once completed. If major issues are discovered, I will go over recommendations with you in order to find the most cost effective, do it yourself approach to correct the issue. If this cannot be done by you, we can discuss other means to see how we can solve the problem. With my experience there is no issue that is not solvable so rest assured, I will be able to help your situation. Should the issue involve any adjacent neighbours, I will personally liaise with City officials to see if outside help is appropriate. I will essentially be hired as your team to deal with and communicate with these government officials to attempt resolving your drainage issues in the most amicable means possible.

Please reach out to us if your question wasn’t included or addressed in the information provided.
